Selena Gomez To Perform At Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Game

Selena Gomez Thanksgiving Halftime Performance

It won’t be a big Thanksgiving dinner for Selena! Instead, she’ll spend Nov. 28 at the Dallas Cowboys’ stadium performing for a good cause during halftime of the big game.

When you think of Thanksgiving, you think of turkey and the Cowboys. And this year you can add Selena Gomez to that roster! Selena will take the field during halftime of the game, on behalf of The Salvation Army, where she’ll perform in her native state!

Selena Gomez Performing At Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Day Game

Selena and the Dallas Cowboys made the announcement before their game on Nov. 3, where she joined owner, Jerry Jones on the field.
“I don’t think you can be from Texas and not watch a Cowboys Thanksgiving game,” Selena said.
She followed that up, tweeting:
I’m kicking off @SalvationArmyUS ’s 123rd #RedKettleCampaign this Thanksgiving w/a halftime performance during the @DallasCowboys game!

She also added, “Feels SO good to be home. Hi Dallas. I hope I make TX proud.”

Selena’s Performing For A Good Cause

In 1997, the Cowboys partnered with The Salvation Army to launch the Red Kettle Campaign, which has raised more than $1.75 billion to provide clothes, shelters, meals and services for the poor.
“Dallas is my hometown, and to be invited to perform on behalf of The Salvation Army is such a great honor,” Selena said in a statement, listed on The Salvation Army’s website. “Giving back is so important, and I am looking forward to kicking off the iconic Red Kettle Campaign and getting those bells ringing across the nation to help families and children in need.”
Selena was born in Grand Prairie, Texas, just 13 miles from Dallas, and says her family are big supporters of the team.
The cheerleaders are also extremely happy about the halftime performer who we’ll see when the Cowboys take on the Oakland Raiders.
One cheerleader, Brittany Schram posted a pic on Twitter of Selena with two cheerleaders, writing, “So happy fellow Texan & personal fav @selenagomez will be our Thanksgiving Halftime! #geekingout #fangirling.”
We’d be fangirling, too! Are you excited for Selena’s Thanksgiving performance?
